Ben Abercrombie is the head chef at the Old Inn and with it the responsibility of the bar and the Old Stables restaurant, providing an excellent service in their new kitchen on view with all of the food being cooked over charcoal, making it really tasty and flavoursome.
Ben has excellent knowledge for a young man, who is confident, ambitious and with the will to succeed in providing the customers with an excellent experience. Ben’s mentor is Mitch Tonks who owns the Seahorse in Dartmouth, Rock fish Grill in Bristol with Matt Prowse. Ben spent some time with Mitch learning the art of cooking on charcoal as the Charcoal cooker is called a Josper and it is a bit of a beast and cooking at 400 degrees.
