Somerset Farmers’ Markets Ltd runs many of the farmers’ markets in the county. The first to open was Glastonbury which has recently celebrated its 15th birthday. Each market has its own distinctive character ranging from Axbridge held in the town’s medieval square, to the weekly Wells Market with the Cathedral providing a stunning backdrop or the bustling High Street in Burnham-on-Sea.
But the aim of every market is to give shoppers the opportunity to browse, sample and select their groceries, meeting up with friends and picking the brains of the producers about menus and cooking methods.
The markets are held hold in ten locations. Most of them run from 9am to 1pm although some are open for a little longer – details of dates and times are given below.
